Christchurch Southern Motorway Stage 2 site visit

The Canterbury/West Coast branch of the Transportation Group, in conjunction with the local Engineering NZ branch, are pleased to offer this major infrastructure bus tour event.

A site visit to the Christchurch Southern Motorway Stage 2 (CSM2) construction site will be held on Wednesday 9th September. This is an opportunity to hear about this major four-lane motorway project nearing construction completion this year. Project aspects include: civil, roading, stormwater, structures, and shared walking and cycling path. The NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi page is here.

All attendees will travel to and from the site by bus. The bus/es will leave and return to the AECOM offices in Hazeldean Park.  Please assemble outside the AECOM offices at 2 Hazeldean Avenue from 3:30 pm, for a strict 4:00 pm departure.  We will drive out to CSM2 site where we will be shown around the site by bus, disembark at key locations, and have an opportunity to ask the construction team questions. We anticipate being back at Hazeldean Park by 7:00 pm.

Due to COVID-19 we will be applying physical distancing on the bus/es.  All attendees will be required to sign in and hand sanitiser will be available for use. Please bring your own face covering if you would prefer (a mask each will be available). Attendance is strictly limited to Transportation Group or Engineering NZ members only and not open to the public.

**UPDATE: a mask each will be available. Face coverings will be mandatory, as per NZ Government requirement for public transport.**

Attendees are to wear hi-viz vest, long sleeve shirt, trousers, hard hat, glasses and steel-capped boots.

RSVP is essential so we can ensure that adequate space can be provided on the bus/es.  Spaces are limited.

Please RSVP to robyn.hyde@aecom.com no later than COB Friday 4th September with name/s and organisation of attendees. Please also advise if you can no longer make it.
