The Transportation Group Central Branch would like to invite our members to attend “Lunch Time Talks” to enjoy some kai and presentations about urban mobility and career development this November!

Register to attend here: https://www.engineeringnz.org/courses-events/event/lunch-time-talks-central-branch/

At this event you will hear from our speakers Daniel Cooper (WSP) and Josephine Draper (Abley) on the projects they have been involved in over the past year, and the Transport Planning Professional route to accreditation in New Zealand.

Daniel Cooper will share his experience working on projects which evaluate the Government Policy Statement on Land Transport in terms of its focus on mode shift, and benchmarking urban mobility for Waka Kotahi’s Sustainable Urban Mobility project and community engagement work for Hutt City Council’s Integrated Transport Strategy.

Josephine Draper has recently gained the Transport Planning Professional (TPP) Qualification Aotearoa viaTransport Planning Society (TPS) New Zealand. The recently formed Aotearoa branch of the UK Transport Planning Society hopes to provide a route to qualification for Transport Planning professionals in New Zealand, and facilitates, develops and promotes best practice and innovation in transport planning. Jo will talk through her experience and the different routes to qualification.

Tea/Coffee and a light lunch will be provided. The event has been planned to allow for some networking after the presentations; we encourage everyone to stay and catch up with old colleagues and meet some new Transportation Group members.

If you (or someone you know) have worked on something interesting recently, we would love the chance to share this with members – please email Githmi.Amarasekera@wsp.com to express interest/suggest a speaker for a slot to share at a future lunch time talks session.
