Please register your attendance via this Eventbrite link no later than the 16th of August.

These transport focussed presentations that will cover two important and increasingly relevant topics: Speed Management and the NZ Upgrade Programme for Canterbury. Between these presentations we will cover some major programmes of transport investment which are being implemented over the next few years. The presentations are:

  1. Speed Management, by Aaron Campion (Urban Connection).
Aaron will discuss public acceptance towards Speed Management, and the engineering stuff beyond the speed limit sign. Speed will be an increasingly topical subject as more speed management projects are rolled out on the network, as we seek to address road safety issues and implement Vision Zero through the Road toZero strategy.
  2. NZ Upgrade Programme Canterbury projects, by Michael Blyleven (Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency).
Mike is the Transport Planning Manager and NZ Upgrade Programme (NZUP) Canterbury Programme manager. He will introduce the NZUP, which is being delivered by the NZ Government in partnership with Waka Kotahi and KiwiRail, and the investment drivers, freight connections, and the importance of partner / stakeholder engagement. The scale of NZUP investment is significant with a strong mandate for delivery.

Commencing from 5:30 PM, with drinks and nibbles for a 6:00 PM presentation start.

There is on-street parking on Victoria St (free & unrestricted from 5pm), and Wilsons off-street parking on Victoria St.

Thanks to CILT for extending this invitation and to the event sponsor GHD.
